Tribute to Jerry Johnson

Jerry was a great man and artist in my hometown.  I met him when we both had artwork showing at the Jewel Art Gallery a few years ago.  He was so encouraging to me, and when he talked to you about art, you could see his passion and creative-wheels turning.  
When I was asked to donate a painting to the fundraising silent auction,(for the C.B. Nuckles Community Center & Black History Museum in Ashland), I knew right then, that I wanted to paint Jerry, to honor his memory.  The abstract background is meant to represent the moment that the creative ideas, patterns, and colors inspire an artist.  May his love and creativity always turn the “wheels of thought” in us.
