You Shall Not Pass

My rendition of Gandalf making his stand at The Bridge of Khazad-dûm against the Balrog from the book, The Fellowship of the Rings, Chapter 5.  

I’ve read this great series of books for many years, so when a client commissioned me to paint this in oils,(24”x24”) I was thrilled at the challenge. This scene has been depicted in art and film many times, but I wanted my take on this climactic moment in the story, to be a fresh and original depiction.
